KPM 1076 Speed and Excitment
Side A features seven tracks penned by Johnny Pearson with the funky pop of "Mini Motoring" and "The Ride Is Rough" certainly worth a listen. Opening side B are two compositions by Keith Mansfield; one of which is the instantly recognisable "Close Shave" - a funky uptempo organ groover with a great brassy chorus. Add to this "Action Replay" and "Thrills And Spills" by Alan Hawkshaw and this album should be towards the top of your KPM wants list
PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT EVEN IF ITS JUST THANKS ITS WHAT DRIVES ME TO CONTINUE POSTING (KNOWING IM NOT DOING IT FOR THE SILENT LEECHERS)

Howdy. You weren't kidding about these library records... I must admit, I'm a novice when it comes to this particular sound. I chose this purely one on the strength of Keith Mansfield, whose name turns up frequently on the Ultragroove radio show (groovetastic.co.uk), not to mention I'm a sucker for a good Hammond organ workout. I'll come back later and try out Speed and Excitement. As always, thanks for the share!
Wow been listening to the library records. Thank You for posting. Now these records have a new life. My life. I can't live without funk! Don't know how I made it the first 20 years without proper funk (everybody has heard cameo's word up at some point in the 80's). I had your blog saved in my favorite list way down because of a recommendation from another blog 6 months ago on a drunken night. I was spring cleaning and saw the name, clicked, and copped so many good quality tunes that im disgusted that i cant get some of the older posts. Now I check this blog everyday! Keep up the good work. Love it! Simply Love it! And a big shout out from all the party people at my apartment right now dancing to funk! BEEYAAHHHHH!
Thanks, the both volumes are great!
(That was about «Big beat»)
Could anyone tell who wrote each track? I even can't figure where side B starts :-)
i really dig these sound library comps. i've purchased a few from dusty groove a few months back and i can't get enough! thanks for the post!
thanks again, amazing work from this great english musicians or KPM. Familiar with Mansfield work on the polish label Pronit and with the OST Loot, this KPM lives up to his standards! Would love to own this one, let's dig! :-)
Thanks! Finally found this - saves a great deal of time ripping it myself!
thanks a lot

If you have more Library Music albums like this, please post them. I really enjoyed these KPM records
Hello
I've searched carboots/fleamarkets for what seems like thousands of years, flicking through countless Jim Reeves (who did some amazing stuff by the way) and Otto On The Piano albums looking for beats/breaks and tunes to play out and then I stumble across this glorious blog.
I'll still look for vinyl, still buy cds and I'll still pee abit when I find a classic break album for 20pence but being able to download this and listen to it whenever I please is an absolute joy.
You Sir, are a true gent.
God speed.

This record sounds great over a football stadium PA. Seriously, that happened (sort of by mistake, but still...). and thank you Alan and HWC and everyone, this is a great groove that is going on.

I've been a Soul lover for 40 years - Funk Northern - and I've never even heard of library music until I stumbled upon your blog. Amazing that I can still find new music that does things for me after all these years. Great blog and I'd love to try some more of your stuff - Ray
