KPM Afro Rock

Alan Parker and John Cameron come together to compose this album that has become one of the most desireable KPM library albums. For once, the hype that surrounds this album is justified. From the opening "Heavy Water" to the close we are treated to 15 tracks of thumpin' afro rock rhythms and more percussion than you can shake a drumstick at. The pick of the tracks has to be the very famous "Swamp Fever" - a fantastic beaty pop track with heavy afro percussion. This track has been featured on many library compilation albums, once you hear it, you'll know why! Also, if you like "Swam Fever", check out "Safari So Good" and "Survival" - both definitely cut from the same cloth.

Thanks a lot for the great KPM music. Saw the KPM Allstars at the QE hall last year-fantastic stuff. Keep up the good work.

Wow. Probably the coolest KPM-piece ever!
"Punch Bowl" is the killer, just makes you want to grow out sideburns, a fat afro and just groove down the street..
Thanks a lot!

Fantastic stuff - thanks for uploading. Only problem is now trying to find the choice cuts that I desperately want to own (which is a much harder task).

You do have an enviable collection of originals.

It's an excellent LP, with full length cuts. Many of the brary LPs I come acrss usually have snippets or very short cuts, ie Hard Hitter on the De Wolfe lable, but this KPM album is a monster. Very funky, very dramatic with fab percussion

Also very good are the Big Beat LPS 1 and 2.

One of the very best, to be sure, right up there with Stringtronics. Glad I picked up that reissue while it was in print!

Thanks for posting this! The three key tracks for me are "Ice Breaker", "Solid Satin", and "Punch Bowl", as they were all used in the soundtrack for the adult film ODYSSEY. They also appeared in many other adult classics of the 1970s. Yay! Been looking for them for years!

I was considering posting this on my own blog, along with both volumes of "Big Beat" released by KPM. However, all three of these albums were re-released in 2007 by Tummy Touch Records and are still available for purchase on their website (in CD format). I was hoping you might be able to tell me if it is still safe to share these. If it's not too much trouble could you please leave a comment on my blog in response? My blog is located @ http://digitalmeltd0wn.blogspot.com
